Modern Greek (CAPS-CLASSICS 1001)

This introductory course is perfect for those who wish to communicate in basic Modern Greek or prepare for travel to Greece. Taught by Dr. Vassiliki Rapti, the course emphasizes practical language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—while grounding students in the fundamentals of Modern Greek grammar and syntax.
Students will build vocabulary through interactive exercises and gain confidence in conversational Greek. The course also includes optional virtual language lab sessions, allowing students to practice at their own pace using online tools like Filoglossia. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with essential language skills and a foundation for further exploration of Modern Greek literature and culture.
The Archaeology of Greek Myth (CAPS-CLASSICS 3250)
