On June 6th, 2020 Susan Rotroff, Jarvis Thurston and Mona Van Duyn Professor Emerita, Grizelda (Zellie) McClelland, assistant dean in the College of Arts & Sciences and lecturer in the Department of Classics, and Tim Moore, John and Penelope Biggs Professor of Classics, held an online conversation on key works from the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum’s collection of ancient Greek vases.
The discussion delved into how to make meaning of the featured iconography, forms, and style of these historical objects. On July 1st the three repeated the discussion in an event for incoming Washington University undergraduates. The June 6th discussion was recorded and is available here.
