Zoe Stamatopoulou publishes study of imagery in Hesiod and Empedocles

Zoe Stamatopoulou’s essay “Constructing Other Eras in Didactic Poetry: Two Case-Studies” will be published this month in the volume Teaching Through Images: Imagery in Greco-Roman Didactic Poetry, ed. Jenny Strauss Clay and Athanassios Vergados (Brill, 2021). The essay explores how the poets Hesiod and Empedocles construct images of unfamiliar bodies in other eras of human history in order to reinforce their didactic message about the contemporary world.

Congratulations, Professor Stamatopoulou!
