The John and Penelope Biggs Department of Classics is proud to announce the outstanding performance of our students on this year’s CAMWS International Latin Translation Exam (ILTE).
The 2026 exam drew 221 submissions from 28 schools, representing a wide range of secondary and post‑secondary Latin programs. As in previous years, our students distinguished themselves with exceptional results across multiple categories.

The CAMWS International Latin Translation Exam is a nationally recognized assessment of students’ ability to read and translate Latin with accuracy, insight, and sensitivity to style. Each year, it provides an opportunity for students to measure their skills against peers from institutions across the country.
