Washington University Department of Classics Announces 2025 and 2026 Biggs Family Residents in Classics

The Washington University Department of Classics is happy to annnounce its 2025 and 2026 Biggs Family Residents

Emily Greenwood, James M. Rothenberg Professor of the Classics and of Comparative Literature at Harvard University will be the department’s 2025 Biggs Family Resident in Classics.  Professor Greenwood, a leading expert on Greek prose literature, classical reception, and the role of Classics in Black Studies and postcolonial studies, will visit Washington University the week of April 7th, 2025.

Elizabeth A. Meyer, T. Cary Johnson, Jr. Professor of History at the University of Virginia, will be the 2026 Biggs Family Resident in Classics.  Professor Meyer is a leading expert in the history of ancient Greece and Rome.
