Sophomore scholar of tragedy wins travel award from Office of Undergraduate Research

The Department celebrates sophomore Melina Marin’s receipt of a travel award from the Office of Undergraduate Research to present her work at a graduate conference at the University of Virginia this month. As noted in a previous article, Melina’s conference paper on Euripides' Medea and the La Llorona folktale, in particular as it is envisaged in Ramón Peón’s film La Llorona, had its beginning in Rebecca Sears’ fall seminar on Women of Greek Tragedy.

Congratulations, Melina, and thanks to Professor Sears for her mentoring of student research!
