This year’s Lamberton-Rotroff Award for Summer Study, named in honor of Professors Emeriti Robert Lamberton and Susan Rotroff, has been awarded to first-year student Kevin Swaggerty, who has enrolled in the online Intensive Latin course offered by Catholic University in Washington, DC. A newly declared Classics major and current student of Intensive Beginning Greek, Kevin is already relishing “a complete infatuation for Classical literature” and for “the joy to be had from reading it in the original tongue,” and by adding Latin he will be equipped to conduct research on ancient primary sources by his junior year.
