Elio Sun, a major in Classics and History, has received the Robert Lamberton and Susan Rotroff Award from the John and Penelope Biggs Department of Classics. Sun will use the award to take part in excavations at Nikopoli, Greece, the site of the Battle of Actium in 31 BCE, a key event in the founding of the Roman Empire.
The award, established by numerous donors to honor Robert Lamberton, Professor Emeritus of Classics, and Susan Rotroff, Jarvis Thurston & Mona Van Duyn Professor Emerita of Classics, funds summer study by graduate and undergraduate students in the John and Penelope Biggs Department of Classics and the Department of Art History & Archaeology.
