    William is a classicist and papyrologist who specializes in Graeco-Roman and Late Antique documents. He has written dissertations on Ptolemaic economic regulation and labor relations on large estates in Late Antique Egypt.

    His research interests include Arabic papyrology and bilingual administration in the 7th century and he currently works on a collection of 6th century Greek documents housed in the Olin Library. He also has a passion for fragmentary Archaic and Hellenistic lyric poetry.
