The Washington University in St. Louis Department of Classics is pleased to announce that it will once again offer its course entitled “Latin and Greek in Current English” (L08 Classics 225D -L44 Linguistics 225D) in Fall 2024, after a hiatus of four years. The course examines the Latin and Greek roots that lie behind over 60% of English words, especially those in science and medicine. It has long proved a favorite among both pre-med students and students interested in the history of the English language. The course will be taught Tuesday and Thursday from 10-11:20 AM by Dr. Justin Meyer.
