Five undergraduates place in this year’s CAMWS Latin Translation Exams

In this year’s College Latin Translation Exams run by the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS), students from our department made a strong showing both in participation and in placement.

Earning one of the top spots (cash award) on the Intermediate Exam was Liam Andrews.

Also in the Intermediate category, Vedul Palavajjhala and Kevin Swaggerty won the book award.

Violet DeLuca won a Certificate of Commendation in the Intermediate category.

In the Advanced category, Roy Claverie won a Certificate of Commendation.

 

Washington University was one of thirteen institutions represented in this year’s competition. Sixty-nine students took the Intermediate Exam. Thirty students took the Advanced Exam.
