The Washington University in St. Louis Department of Classics is happy to announce that Christopher Erdman will join us as an Assistant Professor with a specialty in Roman history this fall. An expert in the politics of the Roman Republic, Erdman is currently completing a dissertation entitled “Voting Culture and Political Theater in Late Republican Lawmaking” at the University of California at Santa Barbara. This fall he will teach an advanced undergraduate/graduate course entitled “Politics and Personalities in the Late Roman Republic.
