Kevin Herbert began teaching classics at Washington University in St. Louis in 1962. He served as curator of the Wulfing Coin Collection from 1968 to 1994 and served as chair of Classics from 1982 until his retirement. He was named professor emeritus in 1992 but continued to teach, primarily in University College, until 2008. The Washington University Archives hold the Kevin Herbert Papers, including thousands of slides he used in teaching.
