CripAntiquity: Making Ancient Studies More Accessible

A talk and group discussion about supporting and promoting neurodiverse and disabled teachers and students in ancient history and related disciplines

Clara Bosak-Schroeder is an Assistant Professor of Classics and affiliate of History, Medieval Studies, Comparative and World Literature, and the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include the intersection of Classics and the environmental humanities, interpretations of the ancient world by modern and contemporary artists, and disability.

Professor Bosak-Schroeder's first book, Other Natures: Environmental Encounters With Ancient Greek Ethnography (University of California Press, 2020), demonstrates that ancient Greek authors cast humans and nonhumans in complex, interdependent relationships. She also coordinates the organization CripAntiquity
